Alexej Navalny’s organizations are no longer allowed to work for the time being
Before the parliamentary elections in autumn, a court banned the organizations from working. The public prosecutor’s office accuses opposition extremism.
According to his team and his lawyers, the opposition politician Alexei Navalny, who is imprisoned in the prison camp, is no longer allowed to work. A court in Moscow has ordered the work ban, said the director of Navalny’s Anti-Corruption Foundation, Ivan Zhdanov. The ban applies until the Moscow public prosecutor’s office decides to classify the organizations as extremist.
The resistance blames the public authority for utilizing the legal executive to eradicate everything that Navalny and his anti-corruption movement have built over the years. The Moscow public investigator’s office needs to order the associations, including its anti-corruption foundation.
The movement, the prosecutors argue, “destabilizes the socio-political situation in the country”.
