Russia classifies the USA and the Czech Republic as “unfriendly states.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin had already announced such a list: Now, with the classification, he is restricting Western embassies in Moscow.
Russia has put the USA and the Czech Republic – as threatened – on its new list of “unfriendly” states. Other states are not yet on the list.
The classification is accompanied by restrictions for the diplomatic missions of both countries, for example, the employment of employees with Russian passports. Accordingly, the Czech embassy in Moscow is only allowed to employ a maximum of 19 Russian citizens, the US embassy none. The Russian Foreign Ministry had already imposed these punitive measures against the representations of both countries – in the recent mutual expulsion of diplomats.
