Samsung boss released on parole, relief for Koreans
He is suspected of bribery and embezzlement, but Samsung director Lee Jae-Yong was allowed to leave prison in South Korea early because he behaved well. That brings relief to many Koreans, who are afraid that the tech company can’t keep going without him.
Lee has been incarcerated for eighteen months, of the thirty he has been sentenced to. He would have given horses as a gift for a merger of two Samsung branches.
Due to Lee’s good behaviour and concerns about the country’s economic situation in the corona crisis, the driver can now go home.
