Walmart jokes about Paul Walker: “Our apologies.”
Department store chain Walmart on Thursday offered apologies for a joke on the company’s twitter feed. It was about actor Paul Walker, who died in 2013.
A customer of the company placed a meme of a road racing car following a new taste of cinnamon buns that the store has in its range. Walmart responded: “Hey Paul Walker: Click it, or ticket.” The latter was the campaign slogan of the US government for years to encourage people to put their seat belts on when they hit the road.
Paul died in November of 2013 at the age of 40 in a car accident. The Fast & Furious actor was a passenger in a Porsche that drove more than 160 kilometres per hour.
